Legislation has passed in Europe that calls for the elimination of lead
in electronic components by 2006. This has worldwide impact. TTI, Inc.
has prepared this section to help you find the information you need to
stay on top of this lead-free legislation. If you are a manufacturer,
supplier, or distributor of electrical or electronic equipment, you are
affected. While this legislation is law within the European Union, the
global nature of electronics has far reaching effects into the global
electronics market.
Electronic and electrical equipment specifically connected to the protection of the member States, arms, munitions, and war material are exempt from these directives. The exemption does not apply to military products not intended specifically for military purposes.
