Amphenol MSD (Manual Service Disconnect) is a safe and reliable solution for PHEV servicing. MSD utilizes a two-stage leveler to open the HVIL circuit prior to the separation of HV contacts. MSD is a tool-free solution for disconnecting the internal high voltage battery pack and protecting the high voltage battery pack from short circuit. All HV conduction surfaces on receptacle assembly are finger proof touch safe.

Amphenol MSD is the perfect solution for PHEV servicing. It is available in a scalable design and a variety of fuse ratings. The 2-stage lever provides HVIL time delay.The MSD is tool-free and the receptacle can be front or rear mounted. Amphenol’s MSD meet an IP67 and IP6k9k rating when in a mated condition and can withstand a minimum of 50 mating cycles. MSD is available with fuse (fuse specification up to 630A and voltage rating up to 690V AC) or without fuse (current rating up to 230A and voltage rating up to 1000V DC). The following fuse rating current are available: 200A, 250A, 315A, 350A, 400A, 450A, 500A, 550A, 630A.

The double channel design allows a lower temperature rise and it is combined with a unique cooling structure. Also available in smaller size and lower cost, the MINI MSD is a more compact solution, available in a scalable design and a variety of fuse ratings (80A, 100A, 125A, 160A, 200A, 250A, 315A, 350A, 400A). The MINI MSD with fuse voltage rating is up to 690V AC. MINI MSD without fuse current rating is up to 170A and up to 1500V DC voltage rating.
