Honeywell VM Series AMR Speed & Direction Sensor ICs
Honeywell VM Series AMR (Anisotropic Magneto Resistive) Speed and Direction Sensor ICs are available as 2-pin and 4-pin Integrated Circuits (ICs) designed to detect the speed and direction of a ring magnet encoder target. The 2-pin current interface also includes the variant of Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) to detect speed with direction. These AMR sensors feature a high-sensitivity AMR bridge array that operates with a larger air gap than hall-effect sensor ICs, allowing for enhanced design flexibility and assembly tolerances. The VR series AMR ICs can operate within the temperature range from -40°C to 150°C with the supply current up to 20mA. Honeywell VM series AMR ICs can be used in speed and position sensing in transmissions, engine cranks, wheel speed measurement, integrated bearings seals, and for shaft speed measurement in pumps, motors, or compressors.
