Smiths Interconnect REP Connectors

Smiths Interconnect REP connectors are a comprehensive series of high reliability, rectangular plastic connectors for rail, industrial, Test & Measurement and automotive applications where sealing, reliability and easy cabling are key factors such as sensors, brakes, signalling, alarms, doors, lighting, air conditioning, seats, passenger information and driver cabin.

The material used conforms to the fire and smoke requirements such as NFF 16-101, NFF 16-102, EN 45545-2 and UL94-V0 standards.

The Hyperboloid contact technology ensures low insertion/extraction forces, immunity to fretting corrosion, long life cycle in harsh environment and superior performances with 30% higher current carrying capacity than standard contacts of the same size.

The REP Series is available with the proven Hypertac® hyperboloid contact technology which ensures excellent reliability under shock and vibration, and allows up to 20,000 mating cycles and high current rating up to 18 A. REP connectors are also available in the EasyREP version, using MR screw machined contacts and allowing up to 500 mating cycles. REP and EasyREP connectors are available in three layouts, with 2, 6, and 12 ways. Both versions are available with crimp termination contacts, for cable harness applications, and with straight or bent termination contacts for PCB mount applications. A shunt accessory is available for both versions, enabling derivation inside the connector for transmission of information to different locations

Features

  • Excellent resistance to shock according to EN 61-373
  • Easy mounting and maintenance: a unique contact size for 24-12AWG cross section coverage with no specific tool required; driving to consequent reduction of supply chain, maintenance and cabling costs.
  • Overmoulded silicone grommet and interfacial seal ensures safety with IP66/IP67 protection
  • Minimal cost of ownership thanks to the smart design and few number of components
