TE Connectivity Single Wall Flame Retardant (SWFR) Tubing

SWFR tubing from TE is a cost effective, highly flame-retardant, 2:1 shrink ratio tubing made of irradiated, cross-linked polyolefin. It insulates and mechanically protects components, electrical connections, and terminations.

SWFR is offered in two very flexible types. X2 is a thin wall tubing, and X4 is a very thin wall tubing. The thicker wall of the X2 offers better protection, while the space-saving thinner wall of the X4 permits denser packing of protected components and a faster shrink time to better protect against thermal damage of temperature-sensitive components. Both types are halogen free, permitting their use in enclosed spaces where toxic gasses from burning materials containing halogens is undesirable.

Features

  • Satisfy increasing demand for safety with highly flame-retardant UL VW-1 Rating
  • Acceptable for use in confined areas where halogenated materials are prohibited due to their emitting toxic or acidic gases when burned
  • Enable electrical insulation and mechanical protection with irradiated polyolefin jacket
  • Permit quick installation with low shrink temperature
  • Allow for design flexibility with broad range of sizes and wall thicknesses
  • X2 (thin wall) type is UL-recognized and CSA certified at 125°C, 600V, with UL VW-1 and CSA OFT flame retardancy Ratings
  • X4 (very thin wall) type is UL-recognized and CSA certified at 125°C, 300V, with UL VW-1 and CSA OFT flame-retardancy Ratings
  • Operating temperature range: -30°C to 125°C (-22°F to 257°F)
  • Minimum shrink temperature: 70°C (158°F)
  • Full recovery temperature: 90°C (194°F)
  • Shrink Ratio: 2:1
  • Size Ranges:
  •     X2 (thin wall) type
  •     1/0.5 through 30/15
  •     X4 (very thin wall) type
  •     0.8/0.4 through 25/12.5

Note: Size is indicated in millimeters, with the first number indicating the minimum inside diameter as supplied and the second number indicating the maximum inside diameter after recovery.
