The 10 largest connector companies had combined 2015 sales of $30 billion, or 57.7% of world connector demand. The table below identifies the top 10 and their 2015 sales by geographic region.

Note, we believe Molex has ROW sales that have been combined with sales of other regions.

All top 10 connector companies' annual sales exceeded a billion dollars. TE Connectivity exceeded a billion in sales in three regions (North America, Europe and China). Amphenol exceeded a billion in two regions (North America and China). Molex exceeded a billion in North America and China. Delphi exceeded a billion in sales in North America. Luxshare, primarily a China focused company, has exceeded a billion there.

The following table provides top 10 market share by company and region.

chart2

The top 10 represents 58% of world demand with even a larger share in North America and China (64% and 64% respectively). Only TE Connectivity and Amphenol have a double-digit market share in total world demand, 15.8% and 10.1% respectively. Molex, the third largest connector company, has captured 8.0% of world connector demand.

The following table shows the top 10 rank by region.

chart3

Only four companies achieve top 10 rank in all geographic regions (TE, Amphenol, Molex and Yazaki).

  • TE Connectivity is ranked number one in all regions except ROW where TE is ranked number three.
  • Amphenol Corporation has a top 10 rank in all regions as has Molex and Yazaki.

When the top 10 definition is “the top ten largest companies in each region” there are 25 companies that achieve top ten rank in 2015.

When top 10 is defined by the largest companies in markets served, or products manufactured, the number of companies achieving top 10 status increases significantly.
