2018 will be a year we all remember for extended lead times. Project and specification changes were made to meet productions plans, which can have a negative impact on your cost controls.

 

Supplier lead times, the defense, aerospace, and space markets have become affected by product allocation. This is because over the past five years or so, designs have moved some solutions from the Hi-Rel specified products to a more commercial version. It is these commercial products that will bring you pain.

 

TTI invests in inventory to protect our customers as much as possible. This works with close cooperation from the customer and our product teams to make sense of all the inputs, making us the market leader in sellable inventory. If you find your company’s production plans affected, allow TTI to become a more significant part of your supplier base.

 

Regardless of project and specification changes, TTI will always try to give the best advice on product selection. We are keen to promote Hi-Rel solutions for mission-critical applications, but some applications no longer fall into the critical category. Working with TTI, we will make sure that we take into account all the current market conditions, ensuring costs and lead times are within acceptable parameters, and more importantly, confirming your production is not under threat.

 

TTI is leading the way in promoting Hi-Rel product updates, such as the range extensions from AVX on WET tantalum capacitors, C&K MM series switches, and ITT Cannon micro connectors. We also reintroduce products from time to time, making sure our customers are continually informed—products like the Harwin Gecko-SL range, TE Connectivity FAS-T connectors, and Panduit locking cable ties. And finally, we strive to be the leader when introducing something outside the Hi-Rel environment, which our customers might find useful in future designs and production requirements. We now introduce the JST range of tooling and the Panasonic range of Solar Cells.
