TDK CLT32 Automotive Grade Power Inductors
TDK CLT32 Series Power Inductors are remarkably compact and have exceptional electrical performance due to their special design. Spanning an inductance spectrum of 17nH to 440nH, these inductors are engineered to withstand saturation currents ranging from 13.5A to 60A. With a modest footprint of 3.2mm x 2.5mm and an insertion height of 2.5mm, the CLT32 series is built to operate flawlessly within a temperature range of -40°C to +165°C, effectively countering self-heating issues.
These components hold AEC-Q200 certification and are meticulously crafted, featuring a solid copper coil encapsulated in a ferromagnetic plastic compound. Leveraging the coil ends as terminals significantly bolsters the reliability of these inductors, especially in the context of automotive applications. The use of a solid copper coil allows these products to achieve an impressively low RDC value, thus minimizing losses. For instance, at an inductance value of 17nH, the resistance rating is a mere 0.39mΩ.
The compact and resilient CLT32 inductors find ideal utility in safety-critical automotive applications such as ADAS/AD, where high-performance processors demand currents in the double-digit ampere range. To facilitate this, Power Management ICs (PMICs) are employed as power supplies delivering these high currents. Consequently, the stability of output hinges on power inductors, making them crucial components. The TDK CLT32 series is tailored to support switching frequencies of up to 10MHz, thus meeting the future demands of DC/DC converters with high clock rates.
