Bourns BSD Series SiC Schottky Barrier Diodes
Bourns Model BSD Series Silicon Carbide (SiC) Schottky Barrier Diodes (SBDs) are designed to provide excellent current carrying capacity. These diodes offer increased peak forward surge capability, low forward voltage drop, reduced thermal resistance, and low power loss. These advanced wide-bandgap diodes are ideal solutions for high-frequency applications such as AC-DC, DC-DC, Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), photovoltaic inverters, and PC computing applications. These applications have a common requirement for high peak forward surge capability, low forward voltage drop, reduced thermal resistance, and low power loss, enabling them to meet higher efficiency targets.
Bourns offers a combination of high-efficiency power factor correction circuits (PFC) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) diodes for ideal system performance. Bourns supplies various power inductors suited for power supply boost applications. The 2000 series inductors are constructed with industry-standard materials cost efficiency across multiple power levels. In addition to a broad standard product offering, Bourns has custom magnetic component capabilities to optimize solutions that help designs achieve their power density, efficiency, and cost goals.
The BSD models operate voltage from 650V to 1200V range and current 6A to 10A range. These Schottky Barrier Diodes are available in commercial grade in an assortment of package options to match a variety of design needs, including TO220-2, TO247-2, TO247-3, TO252, TO263, and DFN8x8. Typical applications include automotive, telecom, industrial, aerospace and defense, and renewable energy markets.
