KOA Corporation SG73 Surge Current Thick Film Resistors

The KOA SG73-family offers several chip resistor solutions with high surge/pulse withstanding characteristics. Transient surges can lead to circuit failures, so surge resistant parts are essential in affected circuits. Pulse tolerant resistors are able to handle higher pulse loads than standard resistors of similar size. Their 'reduced hotspot design' also means that they can dissipate more power in the steady state. This means that a typical 0805 or 1206 resistor can be designed out in favour of a smaller pulse tolerant SG73 in the 0402 size.

KOA’s SG73 series is designed to withstand current and ESD surges. With optimized resistive material and production process, KOA is now able to offer the SG73S, SG73P and SG73G-series also with tighter tolerances down to ±0.25 %. The latest product is the SG73G series which is ideal for precision designs such as high-accuracy voltage sensing or in automotive and industrial applications.
