Energy Storage Systems (ESS) store energy and stabilize electrical performance in large grid installations as well as medium commercial to residential establishments. Lithium-ion batteries are the basic building blocks of ESS and together with inverters or Power Conditioning Systems (PCS) help the ESS manage peak and off-peak power requirements of the locality or household. Residential ESS found in smart homes come with wall-mounted batteries or modules and are coupled with AC/DC Inverters. For commercial or industrial establishments, several of these modules stack up to form racks while multiple such racks are arranged within a container which works as the commercial ESS for large smart grids. The excess power produced by renewable energy resources like solar and wind power are captured by ESS, avoiding massive frequency fluctuations, thereby boosting the reliability and power quality of the grid. The FCI Basics ComboLock® Wire-to-Board connector's compact design for the limited space application needs carry power and signal requirements. The connector system has hybrid 1.00mm pitch signal and 3.00mm pitch power configuration with active latching feature. The connector has nominal current carrying capacity of 10A/pin max for power and 1.5A/pin max for signal.

Minitek MicrospaceXS™ Connectors

The FCI Basics Minitek MicroSpaceXS™ Crimp-to-Wire connector's unique design meets LV214 Severity-3 and USCAR-T2V2 specifications. These 1.27mm pitch connectors come with a current rating up to 4A per contact making them ideal for higher power applications. Minitek MicroSpaceXS™ connectors are available in staggered pin configuration in vertical and horizontal orientations.

ComboStak® and PowerStak® are compact, hybrid (signal and power) and power board-to-board connectors. ComboStak® combines existing, BergStak® 0.8mm pitch signal pins with 2.00mm pitch power blades. PowerStak® is the power only version. Both ComboStak® and PowerStak® provide high signal and current density with a wide range of stack heights.

Minitek® Pwr 5.7 Connectors

Amphenol's Minitek® Pwr 5.7mm is a flexible and comprehensive solution for power application with a high current rating up to 23A per contact and wire gauge range from 16 - 12AWG for wire-to-board application. It features a polarized mating geometry to prevent mis-mating  and a scoop proof housing to prevent terminals from damage.

The Amphenol ICC PwrBlade+™ Connector is a next generation AC/DC power distribution connector system for demanding applications requiring higher linear current density and low power loss. Controllers

An ESS Controller is a used for efficient management of the battery modules in an Energy Storage System and manages charging, discharging of battery modules in addition to monitoring and controlling the environment temperature inside the ESS. It works alongside the BMS to collect and process data like voltage, current and fuse status.
